We have been discovering what the historic town of Stratford upon Avon has to offer this Autumn to keep both kids and adults entertained. Most of these attractions have enhanced guidance relating to Covid-19 and will require you to book your visit online in advance so please check the individual web-sites for more details.
Warwick Castle – as well as exploring the castle and grounds there are still tickets available for the Haunted Castle event which runs from 24th October to 1st November. You can meet the famous witches of Warwick, search the spooky mansion, navigate the haunted hollows and watch the live shows on Dead Centre stage. If you are feeling really brave you could go to “The Castle After Dark”, a Halloween festival evening of live entertainment, street food and spine-chilling mazes. https://www.warwick-castle.com/explore/events/
Stratford Butterfly farm – This is the UK’s largest tropical butterfly paradise and can be enjoyed whatever the weather as it is mostly indoors. There is a creepy crawly discovery week during half term (24th Oct-1 Nov) where you can spend Halloween surrounded by spiders, predatory beetles, a dessert hairy scorpion and three dying poison arrow frogs! This definitely wouldn’t be my idea of fun, but if you like insects, then fill your boots! https://www.butterflyfarm.co.uk/attraction/
The MAD museum is also indoors with something for the whole family to enjoy. From building marble runs, crafting or getting to know the eccentric machines it’s a good way to spend a couple of hours of so. https://themadmuseum.co.uk/
We have picked our favourite places to stay so that you and the family can enjoy some quality time together.
